Dining
Kauri Cliffs’ Northland location provides a bounty of the freshest ingredients for delectable cuisine. Fun to eat, well balanced and above all, easy to understand, Frith draws inspiration from a wide base of international cuisines as he prepares the daily menus at Kauri Cliffs. With an emphasis on local produce and providers, Frith and his brigade of chefs maintain relatively low food miles with fish often caught and cooked on the same day. ““We champion local growers and seasonal fresh produce,” says Frith. “The focus is on finding the best available product and creating dishes for guests using punchy flavour combinations, yet put together in a simple way so as to highlight the ingredients own natural beauty with the greatest of visual impact.”
Guests can choose from a variety of dining spaces, including the Main Dining Room, Tiger Room, Green Room and Verandas, with private dining arranged upon request. Gentlemen are asked to wear jackets to dinner at Kauri Cliffs. We have jackets available for guests to use during their stay which can be placed in rooms before arrival.
Spa
We invite you to relax, rejuvenate and revive your spirit in a tranquil space where nature prevails. Our Spa is nestled at the edge of a Totara forest, overlooking a verdant fern glen and winding stream. Each treatment room, including our couple’s room, has floor to ceiling views and opens onto a private outdoor patio with forest surroundings and native birdsong. The spa has four treatment rooms, locker rooms with showers, a sauna, Jacuzzi spa pool, indoor heated lap pool and fitness center, with a range of exercise equipment and free weights.

The dramatic landscapes, long stretches of coast and soaring mountains make New Zealand a playground for traveling golfers. Kauri Cliffs Golf Course was designed and built by David Harman of Golf Course Consultants, Orlando, Florida. The par 72 championship golf course measures 7,119 yards / 6,510 meters and offers five sets of tees to challenge every skill level. Fifteen holes view the Pacific Ocean, six of which are played alongside cliffs which plunge to the sea. The beautiful inland holes wind through marsh, forest and farmland. Kauri Cliffs is currently ranked #37 in the world by Golf Digest Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses in the World.
Kauri Cliffs recently underwent a renovation from world renowned golf course architect Rees Jones. The 5th hole received a complete redesign and was transformed from a long, uphill, forced carry par-3 to a short “drop shot” par-3. Other notable changes were the addition of tees on the 2nd and 9th holes and a bunker renovation on the 4th hole. The golf complex includes a world-class practice range, putting and chipping greens, a well stocked golf shop, and ladies’ and men’s locker rooms. Premium ladies’ and men’s rental clubs are available.

The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, stylish and elegant and with three private beaches, is the ultimate destination wedding venue. Kauri Cliffs offers 26 bedrooms comprising of Suites, Deluxe Suites, Deluxe Family Suites with an interconnecting bedroom ideal for children, and a two Bedroom Owner’s Cottage. All room options offer the choice of twin or king beds, to sleep a maximum of 52 guests.
Private dining options include the Green Room (for 16), Green Room Veranda (12), Tiger Room (24), Main Dining Room (56), Owner’s Cottage (8), Pink Beach Marquee (120) or Front Lawn Marquee (120).
