At the distance, although ever so close, the sea frames the relaxation lived at the hotel, in full harmony with the earthy tones that give it colour and the natural textures that make it so unique. The natural elements are part of the project’s storytelling – the views of the sea, the stunning sunsets that make the end of each day a memorable moment, the bonding and shared instants enjoyed around the fire are experiences of integration in nature that will, for a long time, remain rooted in everyone’s memories. This new hospitality proposal brings a different offer to town. Sheltered on a valley, it combines four different areas of accommodation, all embraced by the surrounding greenery. The great luxury is the connection with nature. The hotel has 37 rooms, two catering spaces curated by chef Alexandre Silva, a spa, a swimming pool and bar, and an organic garden. The service is high-quality but relaxed, as in a haven of peace, where we feel safe and everything is in its right place. The interiors were designed by the project’s architect, Tiago Silva Dias, with the curatorship of the hotel owner, Alexandra Almeida d’Eça — also responsible for choosing the various craftsmen and craftswomen involved in the composition of the Immerso concept — with the participation of Bárbara Neto, designer from LemonVariance. ACCOMMODATIONS Rooms & Suites The rooms and suites at IMMERSO bring the surrounding landscape indoors through natural textures, soft colours and daylight. Balconies open onto the gardens or the Atlantic, creating a quiet setting to pause and enjoy the slower rhythm of the coast. Nature 25 m² · Garden view Located in the main building, Nature rooms open onto a balcony overlooking the gardens. Warm materials and soft tones create a restful space, closely connected to the greenery outside. Inspire 22 m² · Ocean and garden views Set in independent buildings within the grounds, Inspire rooms offer a closer connection to the landscape. Natural light and a private balcony invite guests to enjoy the gardens and views towards the ocean. Connecting rooms are available. Ocean 30 m² · Ocean view Located in the main building, Ocean rooms look out towards the Atlantic and the waves of São Lourenço. A private balcony extends the room outdoors, while natural textures and a soft palette create a calm interior. Ocean Superior 30 m² · Ocean view Ocean Superior rooms combine a light-filled interior with a private balcony overlooking the Atlantic. The sea provides the backdrop to a relaxed stay, with warm materials and understated details throughout. Suites 50 m² · Ocean and garden views The suites offer more room to unwind, with a separate living area, a bathtub and a panoramic balcony. Views across the gardens towards the Atlantic maintain a close connection to the landscape, indoors and out. Local fish, seasonal vegetables and regional recipes shape a contemporary menu rooted in Portuguese produce. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, with views across the valley towards the ocean. Emme on Fire – Seasonal outdoor dining around the fire At Emme on Fire, charcoal grilling and wood-fired cooking take centre stage. Fish, meat and seasonal ingredients come together in an informal outdoor setting, surrounded by nature. Long tables and views of the valley and sea invite guests to settle in, share a meal and enjoy an unhurried afternoon. We highly recommend guests stay at least 2 nights, ideally 3 or longer so that they can enjoy all the hotel has to offer but also what is available locally. Golf overlooking the Atlantic, horseriding on the beach, listening to traditional Irish music in a local pub or visiting Kylemore Abbey, one of the top 10 visitor attractions in Ireland, just a 40-minute drive from the hotel. ACCOMMODATION The hotel has a total of 48 bedrooms and suites. Classic Rooms (our entry-level category) have views of the mountain, walled garden and courtyard. The Classic Riverview rooms are all located in the original building, refurbished in 2019 and enjoy views overlooking the river, as these rooms are in the original house they vary in shape and size ranging from 215 – 344 (sq ft). Our Superior Rooms are larger rooms and all enjoy views overlooking the river, as well as a large bathroom with twin hand basins, walk-in shower and separate tub; these rooms are 463 sq. ft. The 14 Luxury Rooms all have magnificent views overlooking the river, walk in dressing rooms and bathrooms with twin basins, walk-in shower and separate tub. They are 463 sq ft. 3 Riverside Suites enjoy a bedroom with a king four-poster bed and a separate sitting room overlooking the river, a dressing room and bathroom with twin basins, walk-in shower and separate tub. The suite is 645 sq ft. The Suites also interconnect with an entry-level Classic Room with a view of the walled garden to make a very comfortable two-bedroom suite option. The Classic Room can be king or twin beds. The two-bedroom suite is 882 sq ft. We also have a five-bedroom Luxury Lodge available for exclusive use just two minutes walk from the hotel. The lodge has a large kitchen/diner, den with open fire, dining room, games room with full billiard table, a yoga studio and five bedrooms all with private bathrooms. The master suite on the ground floor is magnificent with a large king bed with beautiful views overlooking the mountain, a large bathroom with walk-in shower, twin vanity and a roll-top claw bath. It also enjoys a nursery and a spacious dressing room and is 1925 sq ft. The four bedrooms upstairs which can be king or twin all with separate bathrooms with walk-in showers are 580 sq ft. each. DINING The kitchens at Ballynahinch have been delighting guests and locals for many years with a strong emphasis on local, seasonal produce. From local seafood to Connemara lamb to the estate-grown fruits and vegetables, guests can enjoy dinner in our elegant Owenmore Restaurant overlooking the river or in the more casual Fisherman’s Pub. ACTIVITIES & RESORT FACILITIES With over 700 acres on the estate there is so much for guests to enjoy. We have over 10 miles of walking trails which can be enjoyed at your own pace with the aid of a map. All the walks are looped, from a 20-minute riverside stroll to three hours of meandering the estate with connecting walks. We also have a guided walk of the estate, a gentle 2.5-hour walk where guests learn of the hotel’s history, see some archaeology sites and visit the 12th century tower house by boat. Fly fishing is also available for both beginners and experienced anglers with half and full day tutorials available. We also have clay (skeet) shooting on property as well as bicycles which are complimentary for guests throughout their stay. Locally we have a boat trip from the local fishing village of Roundstone where guests visit a deserted island, try their hand at lobster fishing and visit the grey seal colony. Spa A masseuse can be scheduled for an in-room visit. Book early to ensure availability. Children We welcome children to the hotel but we do not have kids’ clubs, playgrounds etc. Children under 12 must share a room with their parents. Only our Superior Rooms are suitable for extra beds and or cribs.
