When traveling abroad, there are some things that you can do prior to departure to ensure a smooth, safe trip. We highly recommend you consult the State Department Website for a thorough list how to prepare. Remember that when traveling, your travel agent is the best contact should you need assistance due to delay. They are also helpful in rerouting you in Europe in case of civil unrest. Unfortunately there is more unrest to come in Greece. We just received notice today (November 16, 2010) from the US Embassy in Athens of possible demonstrations and unrest tomorrow November 17, 2010. Specifically, the warning states: “Demonstrations are expected to take place during the afternoon and evening in the center of Athens, in the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy, and in Thessaloniki in the area of the U.S. Consulate General, as well as on and near university campuses. U.S. citizens should avoid these areas after 2:00 PM on November 17. November 17 is the anniversary date of the 1973 protests against the then-ruling junta. In the past, some demonstrations were violent, and included the destruction of property.” If you need further assistance or have questions please contact us at Remarkable Honeymoons.
