Feeling stress about traveling this holiday season? Navigating travel during the busy holidays can be a true eye opener, and extremely frustrating at best. We understand, and want to give some advice on how to mitigate issues and provide some examples of how to make things easier!
#1: Book with your travel agent. For our clients, they can text us at any hour for assistance should their flights be cancelled or delayed.
#2: If you prefer to book online, we recommend booking directly with the airlines and NOT with Expedia or other OTA’s. Should you have any problems it will be a nightmare getting help! That said, many airlines general reservation hold times can be well over an hour. If our clients need help should their flights be delayed or cancelled, we are a quick phone call or text message away.
#3: Purchase travel insurance. We use Allianz and can offer a policy that will cover you for travel interruptions or delays. For those who book Allianz through Remarkable Honeymoons, we will be happy to file the claim on your behalf as well.
#4: Pack your patience. We recommend traveling with an open mind. Things are not always perfect.
#5: If you are inclined to do so and want to bring a smile to a stressed out gate agent or flight attendand, we recommend picking up a few $5 Starbucks (or other) gift cards. Hand them out to staff that may need a “pick me up” or to someone who made your experience better. You would be surprised at how appreciative they will be!
#6: Check out flight aware to see if your airport is having issues. While it may not cover your home town, chances are your connection airport will be listed.
