Navutu Stars Fiji

Navutu Stars Fiji is a small boutique resort on Yaqeta Island in the Yasawa Islands, about 40 nautical miles from Nadi. It spreads along three white-sand beaches and has just ten bures and one restaurant. Guests reach the island from Nadi by high-speed catamaran, seaplane or helicopter.

Created by Italian owners, the resort pairs Mediterranean-inspired interiors with a relaxed, barefoot Fijian setting. It is an adults-only resort, and it suits couples who want quiet beaches, good food and a slow pace, with village visits, snorkeling and spa treatments when they feel like doing more.

The ten villa-style bures are spacious and private, with open-plan interiors, a king bed, a timber deck, day beds and handcrafted hardwood finishes. There are four categories. The two Garden Bures sit in a lush garden setting with sun loungers and private paths to the beach or cove. The Sue Levu is a split-level villa of 130 square meters with a garden, a lounge and private beach access.

For a honeymoon, we recommend:

•  Grand Bures – The most indulgent choice, with a soaking tub, private sun loungers and day beds, and coastal views.

•  Waterfront Bures – Five bures just steps from the sea, with glass doors, lagoon views and direct beach access.

The Navutu Stars Restaurant is the resort’s one restaurant, serving an a la carte menu of Mediterranean and Fijian fusion cuisine with ocean views. The cooking is “plantation to plate”, using produce grown by local villagers, and seafood is central. The menu brings together Italian dishes such as fresh pasta and lobster ravioli with Fijian and Indo-Fijian cooking. The resort also has a beach bar.

For a romantic evening, the Private Dine Out is a candlelit table for two set up on the beach or beside the pool. Birthday and anniversary set-ups can be arranged on request.

The three beaches and calm bays are ideal for swimming, and the resort also has a swimming pool. Kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and a two-seater canoe are free to use. Complimentary activities include snorkeling trips to nearby reefs, hiking, a medicine walk, a plantation walk, stargazing, basket weaving, kava sessions and visits to the local village and church.

Activities at extra cost include a trip to the Sawa-i-Lau Caves, a Blue Lagoon trip, turtle spotting, a private island picnic, and trawling, handline or spear fishing. Diving is arranged through a partner dive center in the Yasawas, with around 30 dive sites in the region.

Spa

The resort’s Spa & Wellness therapists use traditional local ingredients. Treatments include an aloe vera and banana leaf wrap, a coconut face scrub and massage with organic Fijian coconut oil. Navutu Stars Fiji also offers yoga and wellness retreat packages.

Weddings

Navutu Stars Fiji hosts small barefoot beach weddings. Its Weddings in Paradise Package includes the wedding license, a Tala Tala (priest), a bridal bouquet and groom’s buttonhole, a floral arch, flower girls and warrior escorts. A choir, photography, a wedding cake, hair and makeup and traditional Fijian costumes can be added.

For larger celebrations, the whole resort can be chartered for up to 25 guests. Ask us about availability.

Children

Navutu Stars Fiji is an adults-only resort, though children over the age of 11 are welcome.

The resort confirms complimentary Wi-Fi, free use of kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and the canoe, and a program of free activities that includes snorkeling trips, guided walks and village and cultural visits.

Meals are a la carte unless you book a package. The resort’s wellness packages include board meals, spa treatments and one free activity per day, and we will confirm which meals are included with your rate. Transfers from Nadi by catamaran, seaplane or helicopter, diving, fishing, boat excursions and spa treatments are charged separately.
