Yasawa Island Resort and Spa
- Yasawa Islands
Yasawa Island Resort & Spa is the only resort on Yasawa Island, one of the most remote islands in Fiji’s Yasawa chain. Guests arrive on a small charter flight from Nadi that takes about 30 minutes. The resort has a house beach more than half a mile long and access to 11 private white-sand beaches.
Just 18 thatched bures are set among the palms along the beachfront. For most of the year the resort is adults-only, which makes it a natural choice for honeymooners who want quiet, seclusion and a real connection with the neighboring Fijian villages. There are no televisions or Wi-Fi in the bures, and no cell phone reception, so this is a place to switch off.
All 18 bures are air-conditioned and face the ocean, with an outdoor shower, a deck with daybeds, a hammock and a private beachfront cabana. The six Bure Suites sit in pairs among the palms, each sharing one wall with its neighbor. The 2-Bedroom Bure, on a rise overlooking the resort, sleeps up to six. For a honeymoon, we recommend:
• Lomalagi Bure – The resort’s honeymoon bure, alone at the far end of the beach, with its own private pool and complete seclusion.
• Deluxe Beachfront Bure – One of 10 free-standing bures on the beachfront, with a double indoor shower, a private outdoor shower and an ocean-view deck.
Meals are served in the resort’s open-air restaurant, which looks out to sea. Menus change daily and mix local and international flavors, with seafood brought in each day by village fishermen. Once a week there is a lovo, a traditional Fijian feast cooked in an earth oven and shared with other guests.
Manasa’s Bar serves espresso in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon, with a 270-degree ocean view. For a special honeymoon moment, we recommend:
• Private beach picnic – You are taken by boat to a beach of your own and left with a picnic. This is included in your stay.
• Dinner under the stars – A private table for two on the house beach.
The resort has an oceanfront infinity pool, a tennis and pickleball court and a library. Kayaks and paddleboards are available on the beach, and scheduled activities include guided snorkeling trips by boat, visits to the Blue Lagoon Caves, guided nature walks, village visits, a kava ceremony and Fijian cooking demonstrations.
Scuba diving, including PADI Open Water courses, fishing and private sunset cruises can be arranged at extra cost, and the resort offers an introductory scuba session in the pool. Out of respect for the local chief’s Sunday rule, no organized activities run on Sundays, although you can still snorkel from the beach, paddleboard, play tennis or attend church in the village.
Spa
Baravi Spa, described by the resort as Fiji’s first beachfront spa, sits a few steps from the shore. The menu includes hot stone and reflexology massages, facials, body scrubs and body wraps. Couples massages are available at the spa or in your bure.
Weddings
Yasawa Island Resort & Spa hosts destination weddings, elopements and vow renewals, including sunset ceremonies on the beach for just the two of you. The resort’s wedding planner handles the arrangements and can design a custom menu with the kitchen.
Marriages in Fiji are legally recognized worldwide. Documents must be lodged with the Fiji registry at least two months before the wedding, and we can guide you through the process.
Children
The resort is adults-only for most of the year. Children are welcome only during Family Weeks, which are held a few times a year. Ask us for the current Family Week dates, whether you want to bring children or avoid those weeks.
Yasawa Island Resort & Spa’s nightly rate includes:
• All meals and snacks – Including the weekly lovo and private beach picnics.
• Non-alcoholic drinks – Soft drinks, teas, coffees and bottled juices.
• Scheduled activities – Boat snorkeling trips, Blue Lagoon Caves visits, village visits, guided walks and cultural demonstrations, plus kayaks and paddleboards.
• Wi-Fi – In the common areas of the resort.
Alcoholic drinks are charged separately, and an optional alcohol package is available. Spa treatments, scuba diving, fishing, private or off-schedule excursions and room service delivery also cost extra, and a small village entrance fee applies at the Blue Lagoon Caves. The flight between Nadi and Yasawa Island is not automatically part of the rate, although the resort sometimes includes it in a special offer. We will confirm this for your dates.
