Musket Cove Island Resort & Marina
- Mamanuca Islands
Musket Cove Island Resort & Marina is on Malolo Lailai Island in the Mamanuca Islands, off the west coast of Fiji’s main island. It is a relaxed, barefoot kind of place, set on 400 acres of tropical gardens, walking trails and palm-fringed beaches, with its own marina that draws visiting yachts from around the Pacific.
The resort has 55 air-conditioned, open-plan bures and villas among the coconut palms, beside the lagoon or along the beachfront. It suits couples who like space, an easygoing pace and plenty to do on the water, with or without family in tow.
Musket Cove’s accommodations are large, open and well suited to enjoying the island lifestyle with comforts that most cannot be without. All rooms have been renovated with a chic island lifestyle in mind and traditional Fijian trimmings. The 55 Rooms, Bures and Villas reflect a rustic and relaxed Fijian style with categories including: Hotel Rooms, Garden, Lagoon and Beachfront Bures, Resort and Armstrong Island Villas.
Dick’s Place Bar & Bistro is the heart of the resort, overlooking the pool and the bay. It is open from early morning until late and cooks with produce from the island’s orchards and farms. The Trader Cafe, in the reception building above the marina, serves Fijian roasted coffee, all-day breakfast, pizzas, salads and burgers.
The Island Bar at the Musket Cove Yacht Club is reached by a floating walkway across the marina. It is a favorite spot for a sunset drink, and you can order a barbecue pack and grill your own dinner. The Poolside Bar brings cocktails and snacks to your lounger.
For a special evening, we can arrange a candlelit dinner for two on the resort’s private jetty, or a private champagne picnic.
Complimentary activities at Musket Cove include a daily snorkeling trip to a sandbank at low tide, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, snorkeling equipment, beach volleyball, guided medicine walks, cooking demonstrations and Fijian cultural displays such as a kava ceremony.
Scuba diving is run by Subsurface, a PADI 5 Star dive company. We can also arrange a morning dolphin safari, an island hop and snorkel trip, a sunset cruise, cruiser bike rental, sport fishing, or a boat trip to the surf breaks nearby.
Spa
MAKARE Spa is in the middle of the resort grounds, with five air-conditioned, Fijian-style treatment bures in tropical gardens and a relaxation bure. It offers massages and full salon services.
Weddings
Every wedding at Musket Cove Island Resort & Marina is planned individually, and the resort never holds more than one wedding on any given day. Ceremonies can take place on the beach under a large flame tree, on the lawn of Coral Cay Island, or in the hilltop Island Chapel, which has stained glass windows. Receptions range from tables under the coconut palms to the Island Bar.
Children
Children are welcome at the resort, although the Beachfront Bures are adults-only and do not accept children under 15. There is no kids’ club. Instead, the resort organizes daily activities by age and interest, and certified nannies can be booked by the hour.
As our valued clients, you will receive a fresh flower lei greeting on arrival and entrance into the Fiji Airways first-class VIP departure lounge on your last day when you book your flights and accommodations with us.
