Accommodations
The villas are spaced far apart amongst lush, tropical plantings. All have traditional thatched roofs and comprise a sitting room, bedroom (with king size bed), large bathroom, and cosmopolitan shaded terrace overlooking stunning Vatulele Beach. Some also include a private plunge pool. There is also a lovely newer Honeymoon Bure named Vale Viqi and is set farther apart from the others. Lastly their crown jewel, The Point
which has a magnificent view of the beach and lagoon. Split on two levels, The Point truly is the ultimate in luxury tropical accommodation.
What’s Included
All meals and non alcoholic beverages are included in the tariff. Alcoholic beverages are available for an additional cost (occasionally they will offer a special where local spirits are included – be sure to ask)! There are many private dining venues for you to enjoy during your stay at Taveuni Palms.
Weddings
At Vatulele, the service is usually held on the beach at sunset, in a ‘church’ with doors and windows created from plaited coconut leaves and flowers. Traditionally dressed Fijian warriors accompany the bride on a barge trip across the lagoon, and children toss flower petals in the sand as she is carried ashore to take her vows. The ceremony is accompanied by the mellow voices of a village choir raised in sublime harmony. A wedding on Vatulele is a wonderful cultural experience. Usually held at sunset, Fijian Warriors escort the bride over water by barge to her groom. A Fijian minister marries the couple in a legal ceremony. The wedding package includes the services of a minister, Fijian choir, kava ceremony and meke, native attendants, evening banquet, champagne, informal wedding cake and flowers.
Activities
Most activities are included at Vatulele. The only activities available for an added charge would be diving, spa and fishing.
Children
Children are welcome here during “family weeks”and we can easily arrange a Fijian Nanny for you.
Recommended Price Range
Depending upon the time of year, Vatulele Island Resort packages can be as low as $4500 per person from Los Angeles including airfare, seven nights’ accommodation, all meals and non alcoholic beverages, most resort activities, airport/resort transfers, and all associated taxes. All clients of Remarkable Honeymoons will receive a fresh flower lei greeting on arrival into Fiji, and a free pass to Nadi Airport’s first class VIP departure lounge on their last day.
